German-born American, Daniel Blumenthal started his musical studies when just shy of 5 years of age. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan (Bachelor of Music) and The Juilliard School (Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts). He is also a laureate of several international competitions: Sydney and Leeds in 1981, Geneva and Busoni in 1982, and the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium in 1983. Daniel Blumenthal enjoys an international reputation as soloist and chamber artist. He is professor at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, Belgium. In 1995 he was on the jury of the Queen Elisabeth Competition of Piano. Mr Blumenthal has recorded more than 80 CDs.
